India have leapfrogged several top teams in T20 Internationals by achieving a staggering total of 297 runs against Bangladesh during the third T20I match held on Saturday (October 12, 2024) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. This monumental score now ranks as the second-highest team total in T20I history, just behind Nepal’s record of 314 runs against Mongolia.

India’s innings was marked by explosive performances from several key players. Sanju Samson led the charge with a sensational century, scoring 111 runs off just 47 balls, showcasing his ability to dominate the bowling attack. He was well-supported by captain Suryakumar Yadav, who contributed a brisk 75 runs off 35 balls, and Hardik Pandya, adding a quick-fire 47 runs off 18 balls. Riyan Parag also made his mark with a rapid 34 runs off just 13 deliveries.
The Indian batsmen took full advantage of a batting-friendly pitch, combining aggressive stroke play with strategic running between the wickets. Their efforts culminated in a formidable total of 297/6 after 20 overs, setting a challenging target for Bangladesh.

In response to India’s mammoth total, Bangladesh struggled to keep pace and managed to score only 164 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted overs. The top contributions for Bangladesh came from Towhid Hridoy, who scored unbeaten 63 off 42 balls, and Litton Das, who added 42 runs off 25 balls. Despite their efforts, they fell significantly short of the target.
