The match, a crucial clash in the tournament, saw the Knight Riders emerge victorious in a thrilling finish.
Rovman Powell fights back for the Barbados Royals
Batting first, the Royals got off to a shaky start, losing wickets at regular intervals. Quinton de Kock‘s cameo offered a brief respite, but the Royals struggled to build a substantial partnership. However, Rovman Powell‘s brilliant knock in the middle order provided a much-needed boost. The Royals captain scored a crucial 59 runs off 38 deliveries, ensuring his team crossed the 150-run mark scoring 156 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.

Trinbago Knight Riders’ chase stumble with a shaky start
The Knight Riders’ chase began disastrously, with Sunil Narine being dismissed off the first delivery. The early wicket put pressure on the Knight Riders, and they continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. However, Nicholas Pooran‘s counter-attacking innings offered hope. The left-hander’s aggressive approach helped the Knight Riders stay in the game.
Powell and Jason Holder combine to pluck a stunner
With Pooran looking dangerous, the Barbados Royals desperately needed a breakthrough. Powell turned to Keshav Maharaj, and the South African spinner delivered. Pooran’s dismissal, however, was a result of a brilliant fielding effort from Powell and Jason Holder. Powell took a catch at long-off but realized he would cross the boundary. In a quick-thinking move, he flicked the ball back, and Holder completed a spectacular catch to dismiss Pooran.
