Former Australian cricketer Michael Bevan recently shared his insights about the anticipated winner of the ODI World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia. The final showdown, scheduled for Sunday, November 19 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, marks the culmination of the 13th edition of the prestigious trophy.
India’s dominance and Australia’s resilience
India have showcased unparalleled dominance in the CWC 2023, bulldozing through opponents with an impeccable record of ten consecutive wins, establishing themselves as the sole undefeated side in the tournament. Their journey to the final was punctuated by a commanding 70-run victory over New Zealand at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, positioning them as formidable contenders to secure their third 50-over World Cup crown.
Contrastingly, Australia commenced the tournament with two consecutive losses, one of which was against India. However, they swiftly transformed their performance, evolving into a formidable force and navigating their way to the final without encountering any further defeats.

ODI World Cup 2023 final anticipation: Michael Bevan’s insights
Bevan, speaking to ANI, unequivocally declared India as the overwhelming favourites for the final. Nevertheless, he acknowledged Australia’s possession of match-winners capable of influencing the outcome.
“Reaching the World Cup final is a tremendous achievement something that doesn’t happen very often. We have two teams playing in the final who are at their top form. The Australians have a lot of talents and have players who can make a difference at any point in a game. I believe the Aussies need to improve their batting,” Bevan said.
“India are the clear favourite but the potential for Australia to win the ODI World Cup 2023 is also there. Whoever wins the toss will be going to bat first, since it is a good batting team. After a slow start in the tournament, they have made a tremendous comeback,” the 53-year-old said.
