In a significant update concerning the much-awaited return of star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary, Jay Shah, has provided crucial insights into the premier fast bowler’s fitness and availability. Bumrah has been absent from competitive cricket since September last year, dealing with back issues that required surgical intervention.

Currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Stadium (NCA) in Bengaluru, Bumrah’s progress has been closely monitored. Shah, has confirmed that the talented right-arm pacer has regained full fitness and is poised to make his return to international cricket.

Cricket Advisory Committee to appoint specialized coaches for Women’s team

Apart from the update on Bumrah’s availability, Shah also shed light on the Cricket Advisory Committee’s (CAC) plans to bolster the women’s team coaching setup. The CAC has identified the need for dedicated bowling and fielding coaches for the women’s team, recognizing the importance of specialized expertise in these areas.

Shah mentioned that the CAC has already conducted interviews for the head coach position, and now they are actively seeking specialized coaches for fielding and bowling. The appointments for all coaching positions, including the head coach, will be announced together, streamlining the selection process for the support staff of the women’s team.

“The CAC has already conducted interviews for the head coach position and is also looking for specialized coaches for fielding and bowling.
